The expansion of e-commerce during and after the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly transformed the logistics sector, resulting in increasingly complex challenges in terms of operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. In this context, the use of advanced technologies such as machine learning is essential as it enhances the capability of logistics operations and provides tangible possibilities to make them sustainable, thus reducing environmental and social impacts. Considering this scenario, the scientific article presents bibliographic research to analyze how the utilization of machine learning techniques can contribute to the development of sustainable logistics in e-commerce companies. To accomplish this, a case study was conducted on Mercado Livre, a company located in São Paulo, considered a logistics sector reference. Their experiences need to be studied and considered to improve sustainable logistics and leverage the benefits of machine learning.
