Applicability of business intelligence in inventory management in a medical hygiene industry

This article discusses a case study of a non-woven fabric industry located in Jacareí (SP). The company, recognized as a market leader, faced logistical challenges following the expansion of its inventory and the installation of new production lines in 2020, resulting in difficulties in restructuring the inventory and consequently leading to a decline in performance indicators in 2022. The article proposes developing a monitoring tool for inventory movements through principles of Business Intelligence (BI) brought by the Power BI software. The study highlights the importance of closely monitoring inventory movements for efficient management of the Supply Chain sector, in order to identify discrepancies between system records and the physical reality of materials. This enables managers to make strategic decisions based on concrete data, contributing to the success and sustainability of the business. Finally, the article presents a comparison of the past with the present, where it was possible to observe the advancements and benefits achieved.
